    10 Best Hindi Web Series On Netflix To Watch in 2020

    With so many original TV shows on Netflix, it can be difficult to choose one and watch. To make things easier for you, we have curated a list of ten Hindi web series on Netflix which you can try watching once. If you are wondering about our selection criteria, then the first thing was the show must qualify as a Netflix original series. And the rest is solely based on entertainment and ratings. But not in any particular order because it isn’t an easy task. You will know once you have watched all the shows on the list:

    Delhi crime

    An Indian crime drama directed by Richie Mehta and starring Shefali Shah in the lead role. Based on the 2012 Delhi case, it follows the aftermath of the tragic incident. In the show, a Deputy Police Commissioner is assigned to find the culprits responsible for the assault and death of the victim. It has a good rating of 8.5 on IMDb.

    Leila

    Starring Huma Qureshi, Akshay Khanna, and Siddharth Suryanaryan as actors, the story is based on 2017 novel by Prayaag Akbar in a dystopian drama. Leila follows the story of a woman who tries to find her missing daughter in a dictatorial regime in the future. The series got a mixed response, it did poor on IMDb with a very low rating of 4.7 but did ok on Rotten Tomatoes scoring 80% on the Tomatometer.

    Selection Day

    Directed by Udayan Prasad who is an Indian-born British television and film director. The story is based on Aravind Adiga’s novel, which follows the life of two brothers raised by their cricket-obsessed father. The series is also produced by Anil Kapoor and Anand Tucker. It’s a great series to watch for all cricket fans and has a decent IMDb rating of 7.4.

    Lust stories

    Directed by the four prominent directors of India, Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar, and Karan Johar. The show consists of four short films. It aims to portray the realistic aspect and grey shades of being in a relationship and also the psychology of the modern society. The series also got two nominations for the 47th Emmy awards and has a rating of 6.5 on IMDB.

    Little Things

    A very low budget web series originally premiered by Dice media. But later Netflix took hold of the franchise and added new episodes to it. The web series has a good story with excellent picking of everyday events. Everything in the story revolves around a couple staying in Mumbai in a live-in relationship. The series does incredibly well with a rating of 8.2 on IMDB.

    Jamtara

    A crime drama series directed by Somendra Pahi where the story revolves around a real phishing incident that took place in Jamtara. The cast has new faces but performed exceptionally well while playing their characters. The series got quite popular for its dialogues and one-liner just like in sacred games. IMDB rating for this series is 7.3.

    Taj Mahal 1989

    Directed and written by Pushpendra Nath Mishra, Taj Mahal is an Indian rom-com drama. The plot is set in Lucknow in the year 1989. The series explores the different shades of love over the ages and it revolves around several characters having different takes on love. The series has 7.5 rating on IMDB.

    Ghoul

    Written and directed by Patrick Graham, it is a short series with only three episodes. Radhika Apte and Manav Kaul are in the cast. It’s an Indian horror series based on Arabic folklore monster named Ghoul. The setup and background of the series are very chilling with a few jump scare scenes. Ghoul is definitely worth watching for anyone who loves horror. It’s rated 7.1 on IMDB.

    Sacred Games

    The first Netflix original series in India, directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. It is a crime thriller web series based on Vikram Chandra’s 2006 novel. The series has a brilliant cast and screenplay which is done in two timelines separately by both directors. The story keeps the audience hooked and the series has it’s own fan base altogether. One of the best Indian web series to watch on Netflix with an IMDB rating of 8.7.

    Stories By Rabindranath Tagore

    Directed by Anurag Basu, the series comprises short stories written by Rabindranath Tagore. Each story is a masterpiece in its own right and also has amazing cinematography combined with a brilliant performance. The stories written by Tagore are progressive and brought a shift in the mindset of traditional Indian values. The directors have depicted the essence well on screen. The series has one of the best ratings for web series with a rating of 8.9 on IMDB.
